Abstract

Based on analysis of the motion-body relationship, it is
demonstrated the socio-historical influences of sport. The modern
sport starts to emerge at the end of the nineteenth century; the
structure of modern sport is explained after World War II when
the relation State-Sport is established. At the end of the sixties,
between the XX and XXI century, the sports globalization is
gestated and consolidated through the Atypical Transnational
Company of Show and Entertainment (EDTEE). the economics
aspects, the role of State and sport as well as the relation between
them are identifi, defined and described, . The State functions in
the globalization of sport through the foundations of sport public
policies are established. Particularly, focusing on the State role
about the social protests against sport, it is noted the massive,
unusual and unknown protest of the Brazilian population against
the Football World Cup Brazil 2014. The main characteristics
of the EDTEE are explained immediately (sports inequality,
legal chicanery, profit-seeking charity and social welfare) that
originates the entitled thought, is it possible another sport?
This arises the need to reconsider the objective of sport, with
the purpose of starting a debate about overcoming sport and
initiate a theoretical and conceptual foundation in the search of a
concrete alternative.
